PICTURES FROM PARADISE

ST. JOHN, USVI
AUGUST 2016

It is hard to describe something so beautiful.  We almost felt like we were living in a dream the entire week.  "Island Time" kicks in and all of the hassles of everyday living just fade away with the waves.  I think that is why God created paradises - so that we have an eternal promise of what heaven will be like.  This was as close as I will ever come to seeing Heaven, until the day I reach the pearly gates myself.  I LOVED it.  Mark did too, but you could tell he is more of a resort/hotel/swim up bar/golf kinda vacationer.  I like a little more action on my time away.  The first day I pulled out a map and got directions to the nearest gear rental (snorkel, kayak, etc), I could tell we were on two different pages!  This was right up my ally and I am so glad he jumped right in!  He ended up being the best snorkeler and we spent almost one entire day flipping around reefs chasing each other and picking up sea shells for Rose with our "gear" on....  Such a fun experience!!!

Mark would not hike this trail..... ha ha ha

Our amazing Suzuki Jimmy that  we rented for the week!!!  It was like folding a fitted sheet to get Mark's long legs into that thing!  ha ha ha...

Openhimer and Gibney Beach

He was a good kayaker too

can you blame me for loving this view???

putting on his gear for my adventures...

Looks like so much fun, but I think I still have a bruise on my leg from that tire swing!  It hurt!!!

HARDIN FAMILY VACATION WEEKEND 2016

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

We opted for a Family Vacation Weekend this year and I swear the three days was long enough.... Maybe it is just the stage of the game we are in right now, but Im pretty sure if we had tried a week this year it might woulda killed us. Ramey, Phyl, and I were exhausted.  Rameys house was a wreck.  Brent couldnt pack our car fast enough.  My kids were asleep before we got out of Wells Gate.  Im still not sure what the truth is about Mills and Phyl pulling an all-nighter.  AND we found out real quick - SIX kids is A LOT OF KIDS....  Oxford hosted well, and next time we get a wild hair we will have to make plans to do it in Indianola (Im not sure Wills Trace can handle another weekend anytime soon)  I kept telling myself "WE ARE MAKIN' MEMORIES".... and "THESE ARE THE DAYS"....  and as sure as I muttle those little words to myself I am already missing these sweet cousins and ready to go again!!! We had a great weekend!!!!  Love these kiddos so much!
