Would be an UNDERSTATEMENT
The Junior Auxiliary Charity Ball was last weekend - "Valentines" Themed. Since I am the Vice President of the Indianola Chapter this year, that basically meant MORE WORK. Very thankful that we had "committee heads" but at the same time, I have never looked so forward to a fun night being over with. Its so hard to enjoy something when your responsible for it.....
- Have we already paid the band?
- Do the auction items need to be marked down?
- Where did we put the door prizes?
- Please don't spill that red wine on that rented white table cloth...
- Somebody please get a mop and get up this spill before somebody falls down and sues us
- Are we already out of food?
- Did we tip the bar tender?
- The list goes on and on and on and on and on................
5 Things I had to remind myself about Junior Auxiliary on a daily basis leading up to the ball:
1. It will be was a success even though the ENTIRE town did not show up - (for as much work as it was I expected written letters of regret if you were not going to attend..... )
2. It is for a good cause
3. The kids in our area need this money for school clothes, supplies, etc...
4. Being VP is a good character builder and communication exercise for my personal self help
5. The harder you work for something, the sweeter the victory when its over....
