"BABY ROSE IS HERE!!!!!"

This is Usually ALWAYS the Grand Welcome Rose receives whenever she enters a room, a nursery, the church, a restaurant, etc....  She even got called "Mark's Baby Rose" at a Pillow Academy Basketball Game.... I feel the nickname is sticking.

Our Church has been having a Revival the past few nights.  Last night in the break between the music and the preaching, I got a strange feeling to go and check on Rose (which I never do in the middle of Church).  She was sitting in Lizzie's lap fussing, arching her back, and had tears running down her face.  This was unusual considering she also never cries in the church nursery.  I think that is partly because she knows the kids and then 90% because "HER" Mrs. Lizzie is also the church nursery worker.  I tried my best to console her, give her a passy, a bottle, a cheeto - nothing seemed to work.  She did not want her momma (insert tears here).  It finally dawned on me - SHE WANTS TO PLAY!!!!  Lizzie said "The kids here tonight are older and wild.  That little boy has almost stepped on her twice. We just cant let her down."  But then I also reminded myself that my sweet child has no "child interaction," and I suddenly felt extremely guilty.  We do not have her involved in a mother's morning out (because we have Liz), or a day care (because we have Liz), or a play group (because, again, Liz).  I think Rose has made some friends, and it was the first (kinda sad/kinda happy/bittersweet) moment that I realized - MY CHILD NEEDS PLAY FRIENDS!!!!!!!  So.....  I have come to the conclusion that we will now start inviting children over, or going out to eat with other kids, doing fun KID STUFF - Rose is ready, and she definitely has Fantastic Social Skills - every kid loves her - hence the excitement that
"Baby Rose is HERE!!!!!"

Needless to say, she never got stepped on.  She played so hard and had so much fun!!!!  I think the little girls pulled her up and down the halls of the church in the wagon for at least an hour! Rose was passed out - sound asleep by the time the service was over.  I just looked at Lizzie and said "Rose says its time for you to just put her down and let her go!"  She wants in the action! So happy my social butterfly has made some friends!

WE CELEBRATED NORED'S BIRTHDAY AT LA TERRAZA!

Rose had a great time! Wynn provided the much needed dinner entertainment! Between the balloons, the kids, and the all you could eat lemons, Rose was totally in heaven.  I think my poor baby was sound asleep before we even got out of the parking lot! (which I was kinda surprised, considering the amount of birthday cake she devoured!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NO-RAD!

Really?  Am I the only person that thinks these THREE look alike???  Look at the nose? The lips? The shape of the Face??
Seriously... Yal have to see this????

CAN YOU SEE IT....?????

Would be an UNDERSTATEMENT

The Junior Auxiliary Charity Ball was last weekend - "Valentines" Themed.  Since I am the Vice President of the Indianola Chapter this year, that basically meant MORE WORK.  Very thankful that we had "committee heads" but at the same time, I have never looked so forward to a fun night being over with.  Its so hard to enjoy something when your responsible for it.....
  • Have we already paid the band?
  • Do the auction items need to be marked down?
  • Where did we put the door prizes?
  • Please don't spill that red wine on that rented white table cloth...
  • Somebody please get a mop and get up this spill before somebody falls down and sues us
  • Are we already out of food?
  • Did we tip the bar tender?
  • The list goes on and on and on and on and on................
Mark came to the party later (after enjoyed a day of tennis with Jeff and a long afternoon nap......) (and my mother calling to tell him if he didn't get his butt to the party soon he might be a single man).. (yes that really happened)...  anyhoo...  He forgot the camera, so you'll have to settle for my few measly I phone pictures...

5 Things I had to remind myself about Junior Auxiliary on a daily basis leading up to the ball:

1.  It will be was a success even though the ENTIRE town did not show up - (for as much work as it was I expected written letters of regret if you were not going to attend..... )
2.  It is for a good cause
3.  The kids in our area need this money for school clothes, supplies, etc...
4.  Being VP is a good character builder and communication exercise for my personal self help
5.  The harder you work for something, the sweeter the victory when its over....

AND NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT IT.....

SORRY GUYS .... BUT OUR PHOTO SHOOT DIDNT GO SO WELL THIS TIME AROUND....

WEIGHT: 18 pounds 2 ounces (52%)
HEIGHT:  28 inches (69%)
HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE:  44cm (57%)

  • you have only grown 1/2 an inch and gained 1/2 a pound in the last 3 months
  • SECRETLY im really glad you are no longer in the 90 something percentile on height - thats scary tall for a girl... That takes all of the fun out of high heel shoes....
  • I like your stats much better this go round

THINGS YOUR UP TO THESE DAYS:
  • Eating everything! You have a tooth!!!!! Yay! Finally!!!!
    • Carrotts are still your favorite food
    • You LOVE "veggie bites" (cheetos)
  • You are crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything!
    • A very FAST crawler might I add....
    • I think you are perfectly happy with crawling and you can do it so fast, sometimes I think that you think its easier to crawl than practice walking
  • You will walk if your holding onto something (like around the coffee table)
  • You will let go and stand by yourself for only a few seconds before you fall.
  • You can hold your own bottle if nobody will do it for you
  • You are loving your stroller and being outside!
  • Size 2 shoe
  • Diaper size 3
  • Clothing size - 6-9 months
    • Pajamas with feet in them - 9-12 months
  • You always pull your socks off
  • I am trying to wean you from the bottle but you dispise the sippie cup
  • You are starting to laugh at everything
  • You are learning the word NO and you sometimes pretend you have no idea what it means and I think thats so hilarious.  We already have to say NO and then turn our heads so you dont see us laughing
  • You have started to pull on the curtains and hide behind them
  • Unpacking things is your favorite hobby:  suitcase, diaper bag, garbage can, kitchen sink, blanket basket, toy bin
  • We had to "cry it out" for the first time in the history of your life! It was 2am and I dunno why you woke up, but you were just wanting to play.  You were not crying, not fussing, not wet, not hungry... just ready to watch Mickey and play with the dog, and I can assure you that Darly was in no mood to "play" with you at 2am, as your dad and I were not either, so I bit the bullet and put my foot down.  You cried 15 minutes and then fell asleep.  I handled it like a champ! That has not happened again.  :)

Rose,
I am loving every single minute of being your mother, and I would not trade these moments for the world!  You have been the biggest blessing and truly taught me what LOVE is and what it means.  There is something very protective that comes with a mother's love.  I know that down the road a sibling is the best gift I can give you, but right now I cant imagine you having to share my heart.  Right now, my heart belongs to YOU!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY !!!

"YOU'VE GOT MAIL"

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Its bad when your on a first name basis with the Fed-Ex man!

It seems these days Rose gets more fun mail than anyone else in our house! Rose is a member of the book club and receives books monthly, she is a huge fan of Zulilly and makes regular purchases to add to her fashion statement, and just recently she joined the Disney Movie Club!  She got 7 Walt Disney movies for under 20$!  If she gets a friend to join she will receive two more movies for only 99 cents! (hint hint, wink wink) :)  Not that she is trying to "sell" anything, but I will let the cuteness in the pictures below be her own little marketing pitch!

AND SO IT BEGINS...

WE ARE ALL TURNING 30!

Mark and I went to Tunica this past weekend to celebrate Rachael's 30th birthday! She is the first one to jump over that cliff!  WOW! 30 seemed so strange and "Old" when we were 20....  now its like the "new 20".  We had a blast.  The girls spent the day at the spa, while the boys froze their tushies off playing golf! Dinner and Wine, followed by a night of music and gambling.  Just what every 30 year old needs.  Except, this time you could really tell we were 30.  At about 11:30 I was completely exhuasted and ready for bed. I was entering into that zone of "I am present, but im not here".   All I could think about was "I am wasting this time of sleep, and I dont have Rose...."  I did manage to stay awake until 1:30am, at which time I basically told Mark - Im going back to the room - with or without you.  I did have a wonderful time, and it was a much needed night away; however I think once you become a mom - you only like to party between the hours of 6am and 10pm.  You no longer enjoy watching the sunrise.  My how things have changed in the last decade.
