THE COLOR RUN

Thursday, March 28, 2013

What a FABULOUS weekend!!!  I do have to admit, that I had more fun than I have had in a long time....  Its been awhile since I had an ENTIRE weekend with the girls.  We Wined and Dined (and ran).  It was for a good cause right????  The children's Hospital AND my sanity! I was very blessed that Rose spent the weekend with Grandma Phyl and Papa Hardin.  Mark's golf tournament got rained out, and bless his heart, I think he was very lonely all weekend without all the women in his house.  He was just a man and his dog - all. weekend. long.  (I think he really enjoyed the peace and quiet).  I on the other hand have no problems SHOUTING that I enjoyed my weekend away! Love to all the people at home, but getting outta town was the perfect therapy -- physical therapy, retail therapy, and appetite therapy -- all in 24 hours! FAB. U. LOUS.  I have full intentions on participating in another Color Me Rad Race.  It was laid back, but I still got the rush from "On Your Mark,"  "Get Set,"  "COLOR."

All the "moms" after the race ...  now ...  LET THE REAL FUN BEGIN !
A Hard Core Color Bombing Team - Before the Race...
I also want to note, I had somewhat of a revelation this weekend.   One of the many perks of having a husband (or daddy), is never having to pay when I go out to eat - never having to dish out money for a cab ride - never needing cash - never having a bar tab - never "worrying" about that kind of stuff.  Mark always catches the tab.  And before Mark - Ole Sammy had me on the payroll... Boy am I SPOILED!!!!  Cab rides are EXPENSIVE!!!! and I had no idea that a glass (um ..  2 oz)  of wine at a resturant cost 9$ !!!!  No wonder Mark always asks if I would rather just buy a bottle of wine than drink 8 individual glasses.  No. Wonder.

IT SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY ...

~ HE IS WAS MY  LITTLE BROTHER ~

THIS SHOULD BE ME (NOT HIM) ....  I SHOULD NOT BE THIRTY, MARRIED, WITH A BABY ...  WHERE ARE THE DAYS OF MY HIGH SCHOOL PROM, DRINKING WINE FROM A BOX, RIDING BACK ROADS, HAVING A CURFEW, CHEERLEADING, AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON....

THINGS HAVE SURE CHANGED...  MY SENIOR YEAR - SAMUEL WAS IN THE 1ST GRADE! MY PARENTS ARE FINALLY ABOUT TO HAVE AN EMPTY NEST...  AFTER YEARS OF WAITING AND STARTING ALL OVER AFTER I GRADUATED.

I GUESS THEY ARE NEXT ...  (sadness)

(sorry, you'll have to settle for IPhone pictures, I forgot my camera)

TIMES 3

1.  Rose took her first step all by herself last night = one proud momma

2.  She said the word NO! (in a defiant manner ... kinda) = one nervous momma

3.  She cried when Lizzie left yesterday,  and she wouldn't come to her mother.  You know... the one who birthed her, the one who nurtures her, her own flesh and blood might I add  = one sad momma

NINJA TURTLES ARE MAKING A COME-BACK!

WYNN TURNS FIVE !!!

Rose had a great time at Ninja Turtle Wynn's birthday! She thought the chocolate cupcakes were fabulous!  We were very proud of Phyl and cousin Cade for their creativity on making the Ninja Turtle Cake!  Everything was great, well  .... right up until a little girl got sick and the party came to an abrupt halt.  A half of gallon of hand sanitizer and a bath later, we all finally got our stomachs to settle.

Im not sure what is more frustrating... that giant Purple Passy stuck in her mouth in every single cute picture OR the fact that MY CHILD looks this much like my father-in-law and Zero like her momma!  Both situations are a tad bit RIDICULOUS!

Well, you would never know from this picture how hard of a time we have getting this little munchkin to eat!!!  Between the chocolate, the icing, and the chipmunk cheeks - I am here to tell you - Looks can be deceiving!

I can not get over how LONG Rose looks in this picture.  Take into consideration that Mark is 6 feet tall! She is the length of his entire torso, and halfway to his knees.

THE ZOO

WHERE DADS ARE NEEDED MOST...

Rose and I spent the last day of "spring break" at the Memphis Zoological Park with Crystal and her two boys, Tripp and Cort.  I must say, Rose was absolutely Perfect.  She napped well, ate well, played well, smiled often, and never made a fuss - NOT ONE PEEP! It almost makes me really nervous to ever have another child, because I know in my heart of hearts, that I will never have another child that is this easy.  She just goes with the flow....  nothing bothers her.  Crystal, on the other hand, had her hands FULL.  She left the Zoo needing a xanax!  Two kids are definitely more to handle than one kid! FOR SURE!!!!  I really enjoyed my day with Rose, but I was glad to crawl in bed that night! I was one tired momma!

Poor Rose, she missed the elephants!!!

Playing in the creek!

This picture sums up a day at the Zoo!
Needless to say, after we got home, this momma felt exactly like that poor monkey...
