SUNDAY FUN - DAY

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

WE ARE GETTING IN THE EASTER SPIRIT AROUND OUR HOUSE! A CERTAIN LITTLE GIRL HAS BUNNIES ON THE BRAIN! SHE SPENT HER SUNDAY AFTERNOON MAKING EASTER CARDS FOR HER SPECIAL FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

If you cant tell, its a bunny made from Rose's hand and a chicken made from her foot

Her feet were a lot easier to handle than those little fingers!
Rose was much more interested in her "snack"

And of course, a fun day, followed by Sphagetti for dinner! Rose thought it was the best Sunday EVER!

Does this explain how much my child LOVES her some SKETTI ????

10 MONTHS

Monday, March 11, 2013

She is only 2 months short of a year....

How depressing is that???

Weight:  19 pounds

Diaper Size:  3

Clothes:  9 months (some 12 months)

Shoe Size:  3 (however, she is like her momma when it comes to shoes... she really can wear anything from a 6month to a size 4 depending on what matches her outfit) :)

Foods:  Pretty much all table food, she very rarely eats baby food anymore.  Some of her favorites are deli turkey meat, cheetos, mashed potatoes, muffins, string cheese, and shortbread cookies (and of course... carrots)... Gotta give the little Chick credit - she knows how to use that one little tooth!

Formula:  Parents Choice (Walmart Brand).  5 oz morning, lunch, afternoon, and bedtime

Words:  Ma Ma, Da Da, Dar Dar (Darly?  We think... Its different from Da Da), Bye  Bye, Ba Ba (bottle?  We think...)

Hair Color:  Dark Blond

Personality:  Laid back, stubborn, not a big "people person", loves kids, Mommy's girl until about 6pm then all bets are off and she wants her Da Da, easily entertained, keeps to herself in the morning, bath time is her favorite time of day, she doesn't like to be held all the time, not a big cuddler, likes to put herself to sleep, covers her face when she is really tired, has become attached to a particular pillow (the curved pink rabbit), knows the sound of ice shaking in a diet coke, hates a sippie cup, loves a passy, likes her bath water HOT, and likes her food cold

New Tricks:  Dancing, climbing over into things, giving "hugs" (she can squeeze)

When you ask her "Rose, Where is ______?" she now looks for and recognizes them?  These would be:  Lizzie, Darly, Passy, Shoe, Bottle, Doll, Phone

She knows what NO means!

She is a extremely Light Sleeper

Ways I know she is really smart:
  • At the nursery, she will crawl over to the wall of diaper bags and grab HER bag only...  Even tho there are 15 diaper bags hanging on the stand.  She will get out HER bottle and HER snack.
  • She will hide her snack in her the car so that I wont know she has it (sneeky little booger)
  • She knows the way to crawl through her tunnel even if it falls down, is upside down, or wrongside out.
  • She knows to put a cell phone up to her ear!
  • She knows that shoes go on her feet, and even tho she kicks them off constantly, she still tries to put them back on

Conversation between me and Mark the other night while we ate dinner:

Mark:  What Girls will be in Rose's class at school?
Cassey:  Well...  that depends.  She has a late birthday.  We could hold her back easily and she would be one of the oldest in her class, or we could let her go and she would be extremely young for her class.  Technically, I was supposed to be a grade ahead of you, but there is only 3 months difference in our age so I got held back.  Make sense??  Would you want to ever hold her back?
Mark:  Well that depends...
Cassey:  I agree, I think we should just wait and see exactly how advanced she is in school before we make that call?
Mark:  Well she has the genes to be really good
Cassey:  You mean smart?
Mark:  Academically?
Cassey:  Yeah, Isn't that what you meant?
Mark:  No, She needs to be in whatever class the girls are more athletic.  I cant get them to state if they don't have potential....
Cassey:  (Silence)

This just goes to show you how 2 people can be in the same conversation and take it two completely different ways....  Bless his heart if she loves Ballet more than Soccer!

ITS GONNA BE A LONG ROAD

BUT WE ARE IN FOR THE RIDE

We have officially sent our house plans to the architect to start getting them drawn up.  We made some final touches over the weekend, and the last few pictures were emailed to him on Monday.  He has prepared me for this not being an "overnight" process.  I have been told there is a lot of back-and-forth that goes along with designing your own house.  We are extremely excited; yet I'm very nervous.  There is also a huge stress that comes with doing this.  We are currently in the process of doing some renovations to our own home in order to get it ready to sell.  My goal would be to start looking into selling it toward the end of summer....  My main concern is really not if we will be able to sell our house (knock on wood), but more of a "where will live between house A and house B"????  YIKES!

These are just a few pictures of what i have in mind.....
Each one has something different that I like about it.

I am obsessed with vaulted ceilings and beams...

I think this is a fantastic entrace way - and I Love the French doors leading into the backyard!

This is Mark's Dream Bathroom...  not a bad pick I might add...  I like it equally as well...

OK, OK, I know Im getting out of my leauge on this one guys, but HEY, I might as well dream....  What an AMAZING CLOSET!!!!!  Marks comment on this "Who the hell do you are think are? Mariah Carey????"  My response... "If you let me have this closet ill sing Mariah to you every single night the rest of my life"

I want this STYLE home.  Everything, from the windows and curtains, to the lamps, to the coffe table, to the chairs...  This is what I have in Mind....

I want stone on the outside...  and I love this color

Wall Paper = making a comeback!!!

Roofline is very "cottage Frenchie"

Vanity

I like the Openess that this kitchen has

This is a FANTASTIC kitchen - I love the way it wraps around, has one island that is a different color, and I also love the curved entrance into the dining room.  Very classic!

Need I say anything.....?

Beams
LOVE LOVE LOVE The height of these Kitchen Cabinets!

IT FINALLY HAPPENED.....

ROSIE GOT A BOO-BOO.....

Last night after I got home from work, Rose and I were "dancing."  Yes, Dancing is her new thing.  She is adorable at it; however her rhythm definitely is another trait that she got honest in the gene pool.  Anyway, She was banging on the coffee table with one foot on the rug and one foot on the hard wood floor.  In the middle of the beat she lost her balance and busted it......  I mean BUSTED IT....  Her bottom tooth went right through her upper lip and blood started gushing everywhere.  Rose could hardly cry because she temporarily wasn't breathing....  I threw her on the kitchen counter, and sadly to say, my first instinct was not to stop the bleeding, but to check the tooth.  The tooth was OK - not mobile (aspiration was running through my mind) - now I could focus on the gallons of blood pouring out of her mouth.  15 minutes went by and I was having very little success at getting the hemorrhage to stop.  I was doing my best to "apply pressure;"  but she was a screaming, kicking, gasping for air, 10 month old who was in pain for the first time in her life, and please forgive my medical skills but it was NOT WORKING OUT!!!!  So....  Who we gonna call??????  Ghostbusters PAPA! No answer, so I pulled the strings (which I only do in true medical emergencies) -  I had him paged at the hospital to meet me in the East Wing Immediately....  (I don't think I have done this since I was about 12 and my grandmother used to have me page him just to run him a snicker bar and a box of fried catfish with the trimmings).  Anyway, the entire hospital was in on this tragic event.  And needless to say....  of course the bleeding was stopped by then......  so was the crying (from Rose - I was a complete basket case).  My grandad was laughing.  I got the usual comment "isn't this your area of expertise... DOCTOR Hardin....???)  yeah yeah yeah, bug off! .... its totally different when its your kid! It was A LOT of blood!

Sorry I don't have any pictures from the tragedy...  I was way too overwhelmed to even think about my camera in a situation like that...  So i just have a picture of my poor pitiful baby girl after the storm had passed....

This morning Rose was completely fine...  Her lip was not nearly as swollen as I was expecting it to be.  She ate a popsicle for supper and was going to eat another one for breakfast.  I do believe, Ladies and Gents, We have successfully made it through our first of many "boo boos"

"BABY ROSE IS HERE!!!!!"

This is Usually ALWAYS the Grand Welcome Rose receives whenever she enters a room, a nursery, the church, a restaurant, etc....  She even got called "Mark's Baby Rose" at a Pillow Academy Basketball Game.... I feel the nickname is sticking.

Our Church has been having a Revival the past few nights.  Last night in the break between the music and the preaching, I got a strange feeling to go and check on Rose (which I never do in the middle of Church).  She was sitting in Lizzie's lap fussing, arching her back, and had tears running down her face.  This was unusual considering she also never cries in the church nursery.  I think that is partly because she knows the kids and then 90% because "HER" Mrs. Lizzie is also the church nursery worker.  I tried my best to console her, give her a passy, a bottle, a cheeto - nothing seemed to work.  She did not want her momma (insert tears here).  It finally dawned on me - SHE WANTS TO PLAY!!!!  Lizzie said "The kids here tonight are older and wild.  That little boy has almost stepped on her twice. We just cant let her down."  But then I also reminded myself that my sweet child has no "child interaction," and I suddenly felt extremely guilty.  We do not have her involved in a mother's morning out (because we have Liz), or a day care (because we have Liz), or a play group (because, again, Liz).  I think Rose has made some friends, and it was the first (kinda sad/kinda happy/bittersweet) moment that I realized - MY CHILD NEEDS PLAY FRIENDS!!!!!!!  So.....  I have come to the conclusion that we will now start inviting children over, or going out to eat with other kids, doing fun KID STUFF - Rose is ready, and she definitely has Fantastic Social Skills - every kid loves her - hence the excitement that
"Baby Rose is HERE!!!!!"

Needless to say, she never got stepped on.  She played so hard and had so much fun!!!!  I think the little girls pulled her up and down the halls of the church in the wagon for at least an hour! Rose was passed out - sound asleep by the time the service was over.  I just looked at Lizzie and said "Rose says its time for you to just put her down and let her go!"  She wants in the action! So happy my social butterfly has made some friends!

WE CELEBRATED NORED'S BIRTHDAY AT LA TERRAZA!

Rose had a great time! Wynn provided the much needed dinner entertainment! Between the balloons, the kids, and the all you could eat lemons, Rose was totally in heaven.  I think my poor baby was sound asleep before we even got out of the parking lot! (which I was kinda surprised, considering the amount of birthday cake she devoured!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NO-RAD!

Really?  Am I the only person that thinks these THREE look alike???  Look at the nose? The lips? The shape of the Face??
Seriously... Yal have to see this????
